MY TOP 5 EYELINERS

HELLO HELLO,

I hope you are all doing well and if not, get well/feel better soon. Now before we get started, let me just clarify that these are my personal top 5 eye liners as well as my opinions about them. There’s certainly a lot of great eyeliners out there, however these are my choices and they get the job done.

I really love eye liner but especially love them for the days when am without eyeshadow. They make such a bold statement without having too much going on. Below is will list for you my top 5 in no respective order;

– ALOBON WATERPROOF BLACK LIQUID EYELINER £2

Yes I know I know, some of you might be so confused whilst some very aware of this eyeliner. As strange as the name might be, this is by far the best liquid eye liner I have ever used. However, the bad news is that it cannot be purchased from the drugstore but you can get it from the WISH.COM website (for those who do not know, this is a site that sells almost anything at incredible prices but the purchase is at your own risk as it can be HIT OR MISS. I will do a wish.com haul sometime in the coming weeks and will explain further for anyone interested).

PROs;

  • Very pigmented
  • Easy application
  • It’s waterproof
  • Nice packaging
  • Smudge-proof
  • Can achieve thin-thick strokes
  • Dries off matte with a bit of shine
  • Lasts
  • Doesn’t (didn’t) irritate the eyes
  • A little goes a long way
  • It has a ball inside, therefore you need to shake well before use for maximum pigmentation

CONs;

  • Has a stiff dip applicator (less room for flexibility)
  • The edge of the applicator is sharp (handle with care during the application process)
  • very wet formula

CONCLUSION

I would recommend this eyeliner with a bit of practice in order to achieve the desired wing (this is mostly for people who are used to having either the felt tip or bristles applicator).

-RIMMEL LONDON EXAGGERATE EYE LINER £5.29

She (yes I call her she) has been with me for years now. Ever since I walked into Superdrug and decided to try out a new eyeliner, I have never looked back. There is always an extra one at the back of my wardrobe.

PROs;

  • Very pigmented
  • Glides onto the eyelids  smoothly
  • Lasts for as long as
  • Doesn’t smudge
  • Can achieve versatile looks and wings
  • It has a ball inside, so you need to shake before use for maximum pigmentation
  • Doesn’t sting the eyes
  • Its buildable
  • Easy to use
  • Dries off matte
  • I like the applicator

CONs;

  • The eyeliner applicator (dip stick stiff applicator) is neither felt tip or bristles, therefore this sometimes poses a challenge because there is barely any room for flexibility
  • You need to be quick with the application as it dries off rather quickly
  • The applicator edge is sharp and pointy, one needs to be extra careful during application
  • The tip becomes a bit rough when the eyeliner is running out

CONCLUSION

I have a love/hate relationship with this applicator and I know getting this particular eyeliner somewhat sounds like a suicide mission lol but once you learn/master how to use it, it is a good one.

-MUALUXE PRECISION FELT TIP LINER BLACK £4

OK I must admit, I have an obsession with some of the MUA products but it’s  shame they do not have much to offer when it comes to their brand.

PROs;

  • Am in love with the packaging ( the gold and black outlook is just too cute)
  • Perfect for precise wing/s
  • Very pigmented
  • It has a ball inside, so you need to shake before use for maximum pigmentation
  • Glides easily onto the eyelid
  • I really like the felt tip feeling on my eyes during application
  • The applicator is soft and flexible
  • Easy use and application
  • Can achieve different thickness and desired wings
  • Good fit for the hand  (you really don’t struggle handling it)

CONs;

I couldn’t find any.

CONCLUSION

I would definitely recommend

  L.A COLORS EYELINER PENCIL £1.49-2.20

img_1409

PROs;

  • The pigment is decent
  • Easy to use
  • The thickness is standard

CONs;

  • Because it’s a pencil, you will have to sharpen it so often
  • Creating diverse wings is a bit of a challenge because of the pencil type tip
  • If do not handle with care during and after application, It will smudge

CONCLUSION

This is the type of eyeliner I would recommend for beginners or someone who is just looking for a simple non-complex everyday liner.

-L.A COLORS AUTO EYELINER £1.49-2.20

To be honest with you, I purchased this one because I couldn’t decide between the eyeliner pencil and the auto eyeliner. And for that reason, I ended up purchasing both.

PROs;

  • The pigment is decent
  • Easy and smooth application

CONs;

  • Handle with extra care ( easily breaks off)
  • If not cautious, it will smudge

CONCLUSION

It’s OK but I will say try it out at your own risk.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, I PREFER LIQUID OVER PENCIL EYELINERS AS I HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CONTROL OVER THEM COMPARED TO PENCILS, THEY ARE A LOT HARDER TO WORK WITH.

Been fun writing up this review, until next time.
