MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer REVIEW (firecracker)

HeLLo beautiful people from different parts of the world, I hope you are all doing well today and are in great health and if not, get well soon. And to those having a crappy day, hang in there…it happens to the best of us.

(L-R Reckless, Kooky, Moxie, Flare and Firecracker)

Today I come to you with a quick MUA LUXE lip lacquer review, which is an update from the Superdrug haul pt 2 (lip products). I will be reviewing only one of the five shades (firecracker) from haul but will include a picture from a previous post done 2 months ago.

NOTE: They come in a variety of 20 shades (image taken from Google)

504a83c5ab2ab83412caf117a129a82eI am a huge fan of the MakeUp Academy (MUA) makeup range, especially their £3 highlighters, £2 metallic liquid lipstick, £1 lipstick, £1 single eyeshadow, £1 eyeliner pencil, £1 lip liner and now the £3 velvet lip lacquer. My only fault with the range is that it lacks diversity when it comes to foundation and concealer.  I have done a haul and review on all the above products, click here for the MUA HAUL  and here for the MUA REVIEW

It comes in a nice frosted tube with a toned down gold shimmer lid and a dofer applicator (which I really like because it makes the application easy).

(I only used one application with my lips but two with the swatches and that’s why they appear a lot darker)

The picture below is taken from a previous MUA review post I did on the shade SPLASH two months ago;

(Click here for the review on this shade including other MUA beauty products)

  • Highly pigmented
  • Glides on effortlessly
  • Fast drying
  • Smudge proof
  • Does not dry out your lips
  • Silky smooth
  • Variety of shade range available
  • Leaves you with a gorgeous matte finish
  • Will last you for hours, if not the whole day (with only 1 or 2 touch-ups)
  • It goes on as a bright red but dries off into a mild-dark red
  • You good to go with one coat but if you are not satisfied , it is buildable

  • It’s slightly on the thick side, so you will have to brush off excess from the applicator before applying it onto your lips
  • I have read one or two reviews that say it can be drying but nothing too uncomfortable (I would advise to moisturise your lips two minutes before application if this ever happens to you)

I absolutely love the velvet lip lacquer and would recommend it to anyone. Now that I have tried on a few different shades, am definitely looking forward to picking up some more to add to my collection.

If anyone is interested in trying out the MUA velvet lip lacquers, you can purchase them from your local SuperDrug store or online for £3 (superdrug beauty card holders can order online and have them delivered free to their local store for pick up). But if you happen to order them from Amazon or eBay, be prepared to pay a little bit extra.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my blog post today, have a Happy New Year.

I am a mother of two who enjoys anything makeup and sometimes hair. Both are a form of expression, art as well as an escape and into my own atmosphere. However, I don't enjoy having to break the bank in order to look and be ''on fleek''. Oh and before I forget, I certainly enjoy trying out new recipes
